ACT-IAC Federal Insights Exchange Session Featuring DHS Workforce of the Future
This event qualifies for 2 CLPs
DHS delivers its missions through a workforce aligned with expert tasks and strategic directions. Industry plays an important role in workforce. Industry provides human capital domain expertise to advance best practices and systems supporting workforce strategy and programs. Industry also supplements the DHS workforce. The DHS spend with contractors increased in 2019 and is projected to keep increasing as a percentage of discretionary budget authorization, according to Deltek’s latest analysis.
What are the key workforce initiatives and challenges for DHS? Where does DHS need industry and what is the acquisition outlook? A panel of leadership from across the Department will discuss skills areas needed now and in the future, how open source, emerging technologies and cloud impact talent needed and the role of industry expertise. The cyber skill requirements evidenced by multiple acquisitions is one of the areas. There are other change forces such as turnover at all levels of DHS, retirement and office relocation. Our panel will explore these topics and how industry can address through solutions and talent.
