FAIRFAX, Va., PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- AFCEA International announced today that Ms. Jill Singer and Mr. John Gilligan have been selected as the new co-chairs for the AFCEA Cyber Committee. In this position, they will work with the committee to coordinate and enhance AFCEA's outreach to the responsible communities, and to cultivate a spirit of partnership among the public and private sectors. Committees also serve as a forum to develop new ideas regarding technical, operational challenges and capabilities in support of AFCEA chapters and members worldwide and other information exchange services.
Ms. Jill Tummler Singer is the owner of Tummler Singer Associates, LLC, a woman-owned consulting firm focused on transformation, strategy, leadership, and technology. She recently finished 27 years of federal service in which she was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the National Reconnaissance Office and the Deputy CIO for the Central Intelligence Agency. Prior to those positions she worked for the Diplomatic Telecommunications Service and the CIA. She has also held industry positions with SAIC, GE Aerospace, and IBM. Ms. Singer currently serves as an Executive-on-Ground for the UVA McIntire School of Commerce and has served on the AFCEA Cyber Committee for more than three years.
John M. Gilligan is president of the Gilligan Group, Inc., an IT consulting firm. Prior to his current position he was a senior vice president and director, Defense Sector, at SRA International, Inc. Mr. Gilligan has served as the CIO for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Department of Energy, and was program executive officer for battle management and command and control for the Air Force. He was a member of the Cyber Security Commission (formed to advise the 44th President) and as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense on IT reform. Mr. Gilligan served on the Obama-Biden Transition Team focusing on IT within the DoD and Intelligence Communities. He currently serves as chairman of the board of directors for the Center for Internet Security, Cyber Griffin Inc., and HDT Global, Inc.
