With over 250 government events scheduled for October, the trickle-down effect of the government shutdown could have a quite an impact.
However, 57 hours in--the vibe is pretty optimistic, and many organizers are pushing forward as scheduled.
In fact, there's only a short list of events that have been cancelled or postponed this week:
- AFCEA Fall Intelligence Symposium scheduled for October 2 and 3. CANCELLED
- Symantec Government Symposium scheduled for October 2. POSTPONED until March 2014.
- Department of Homeland Security's Additive Manufacturing Firearms Briefing scheduled for October 3 in DC. POSTPONED.
- NDIA's C4ISR Breakfast featuring Hari Bezwada scheduled for October 3. CANCELLED
- Centers for Disease Control's Public Health Informatics 3-day virtual event scheduled for October 8-10. CANCELLED

- Akamai Edge Conference and Akamai Government Forum scheduled for October 7-11.
- TIA 2013: The Future of the Network scheduled for October 7-10.

- USGIF's 2013 GEOINT Symposium scheduled for October 13-16 (regardless if a resolution happens or not).

Digital Government Institute is waiting to see what happens before making a decision. Their Government Big Data Conference & Expo is scheduled for next Thursday, October 10. Event will either proceed or be postponed.
