Vienna, Va - FOSE 2013 will provide an extended value to government attendees by offering free admission to its entire educational program, including its executive-level conference featuring five tracks and over 40 comprehensive sessions.  Program topics will focus on the technology and management drivers affecting government today, including cloud and virtualization; cybersecurity; mobile government; big data and business intelligence; and project management.  Government attendees will also have complimentary access to the event's keynotes, workshops and training in the exhibit hall.  FOSE 2013 will take place May 14-16 at the Walter E. The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) has announced its latest conference: Forensic Enabled Intelligence 2013 (FEI), set to take place April 22-24 at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria, Virginia.

According to the group, this event comes just as the Defense Forensics Enterprise takes shape and procurement procedures shift from ad-hoc funding to budgeted expenses. Established by the Department of Defense, the Defense Forensics Enterprise exists to expand the scope of defense forensic capacities and to synchronize efforts among federal agencies and armed forces.

FOSE 2013 Announces Mobile Government Track

Vienna, Va - FOSE 2013 will highlight the importance of today's mobile landscape within government with a track focused on mobile challenges and best practices.   Sessions will look at top strategies and policies including Bring You Own Device (BYOD), application programming interfaces (APIs) and mobilizing enterprise systems. DoD, The U.S. Army and the Association of the U.S. Army are invested in the Asia Pacific Region–Are You?

Despite U.S. spending cuts and ongoing budget debates in Congress, the Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter recently said DoD is using whatever flexibility it has in managing its budget to favor and protect the rebalance of forces in the Asia- Pacific region. "The rebalance will continue and in fact gain momentum for two reasons. First, U.S. interests here are enduring and so also will be its political and economic presence," Carter told an audience of nearly 1,500 defense, government and security officials from around the world.

"We will be able to leverage more capacity from our ground forces, including the Army, Marines and special operations forces, now that they are coming home to the Pacific from Iraq and Afghanistan," Carter said, adding, "Also we are modernizing and enhancing our forward presence across the region in cooperation with our allies and partners." Beginning with Northeast Asia, Carter said DoD is modernizing and updating alliances with Japan and South Korea.

More than 600 local officials from surrounding counties are expected to descend on Jefferson Community College this month for the Tug Hill Commission's 24th annual North Country Local Government Conference -- a day of discussions and instruction that will satisfy annual requirements for planning and zoning boards' members and provide professional development and networking opportunities.

John K. Bartow, the commission's executive director, said the conference on March 28 will offer the "best training from the best trainers in the state."
