Air Force Academy cadets to get training on etiquette, event planning

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Cadets at the Air Force Academy will soon add another class to their graduation requirements -- decorum.

The Air Force has put out a notice requesting bids from companies interesting in teaching "Social Decorum Training Program at the US Air Force Academy."

According to the Federal Government's website, the class may include social decorum training in military, business, communication, dining, social and professional etiquette.

BOSH Global Services Raises Over $21,000 for Wounded Veterans

Newport News, VA - BOSH Global Services (BOSH) is proud to announce another successful fundraiser for wounded warriors. For the third year in a row, BOSH held its annual barbecue lunch fundraiser, on October 4, 2013, raising a total of  $21,234 for the Wounded Warrior Project and the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.

"The outpouring of support that we received from our friends in the community was staggering," said BOSH employee Josie Pearson, who led the fundraising effort.  "Volunteers kept stepping forward, local businesses displayed posters or donated proceeds, and the contributions just kept coming in, even for days after the barbecue."

DLA Guidance: Something’s Gotta Squeeze

Vice Admiral Mark Harnitchek has been heading the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) for 2 years and presented an update on the agency's challenges and progress during WBR's 2013 Defense Logistics conference. He candidly talked about how DoD at large, and DLA specifically, had benefited from "budget largesse" in recent years, especially with supplemental budgets (i.e. OCO / war spending) and had grown "thicker in the middle" as a result. In plain admission of the government's shortcomings, the development of a "culture of judiciousness" to apply better judgment and save money is necessary within DLA. This is a welcome evolution in public discourse after so much hand-wringing about sequestration and befuddlement at the very idea of having to operate within financial constraints.
