IRS New Carrollton Federal Building (NCFB) Security Awareness Day

The IRS MITS Office of Cyber Security; Office of Privacy, Information Protection & Data Security; and the Office of Physical Security & Emergency Preparedness will host the 2010 Security Awareness Day at the New Carrollton Federal Building (NCFB). In an effort to emphasize the collaboration between the three security organizations, as well as the integral role of each employee in the success of the IRS's security program, the proposed theme for this year is "Security - It Is Our Shared Responsibility."

The Security Awareness related sessions will have IRS Senior Staff and other outside speakers. The expo will be an integral part of the Agenda, and all IRS employees are encouraged to participate.

The National Cyber Security Awareness Month observance is meant to provide education/information to all, on cyber threats and how to protect ourselves against those threats at work and home. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) hosts a collaborative effort between its Security Organizations, MITS Cyber Security, Privacy, Information Protection & Data Security, and Physical Security and Emergency Management; along with Security Professionals and experts from Government, Industry and Vendors focused on the education and information sharing of internal and external Security Programs, Products and Data Protection Services.
