AUSA Hot Topic: Holistic Health and the Resilient Soldier
Theme: Holistic Health and the Resilient Soldier
Scope: This event will include more than 100 government, military, and industry professionals, as well as senior-level executives from the U.S. Army. Government and military attendees will include key leaders involved in the research and development, procurement, sustainment, and training processes covering the five pillars of resilience in the Army, and other leaders who fall under the Army Resilience Directorate.
Objective: The Army’s greatest asset is its people. Acknowledging this, the Army implemented a Holistic Health and Fitness approach to building the resilient Soldier. In coordination with the Army Chaplain Corps, this Hot Topic will explore how a holistic approach to health and fitness both reduces harmful behaviors in times of peace by developing character and purpose and develops human characteristics of endurance to prepare the resilient Soldier for large-scale combat. Additionally, Soldier resilience depends on the creation of healthy communities on installations that can support Families in the event of a future conflict. This Hot Topic will explore a holistic approach to these challenges and how academic and industry partners can assist in building Soldier resilience.
