Navigating the Shift: Cybersecurity Edition

State and local government agencies are facing a fast-changing cybersecurity environment — one shaped by evolving federal priorities, policies, and funding models. In this installment of the Navigating the Shift series, we’ll share some of the most significant moves from the past 10 months and explain what they mean for state and local government leaders, including:

  • An overall change in direction laid out in the March executive order on state and local cybersecurity and resilience
  • Significant changes at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
  • New fees for services from the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC)
  • Modernization of FedRAMP, the federal government’s long-running cloud security certification program

Our expert panel will examine how these and other changes impact cybersecurity strategies and responsibilities for states and localities. They’ll also share innovative ideas and emerging best practices for maintaining security and resilience in this new environment.
