Building an ITAR Compliance Program is a comprehensive, four‑week hybrid course designed to equip trade compliance professionals with the knowledge, structure, and practical tools needed to develop, strengthen, or modernize a Compliance Program aligned with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

4-Week Program | Live webinars on Fridays

The plan for each week is as follows:

  • Participants are responsible for viewing a short video (45-90 minutes) before the day of the webinar for that week.
  • On the day of the live webinar, participants will attend a 2-hour live webinar on Fridays with the instructor to discuss the video (Step 1) and for Q&A.
  • The participant will take the exam on the topics discussed.
  • Steps 1-3 will be repeated for three more weeks (for a total of four weeks).
This course will prepare you for the CIP – Certified ITAR Professional Certification Exam.

Speaker Details

Lilia Landis

Lila Landis is a Licensed Customs Broker, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer, and Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional International with 15+ years in global trade compliance and logistics. She holds a Global MBA from the University of Houston–Victoria and has built compliance programs across defense, manufacturing, oil & gas, logistics, and chemicals.

Her expertise spans FTAs, foreign import/export compliance, regulatory training, and GTM software implementation. Fluent in French and Spanish, she has led international teams at major multinationals and collaborated directly with CBP on Focused Assessments, CTPAT validations, and ACE testing. During USMCA negotiations, she worked with Senator Rob Portman's office to advocate for chemical mixture regulations — a proposal adopted into the final agreement as Rule 3: Mixtures and Blends Rule.

She is an active member of ICPA, a NASBITE Board Member, a CBP Trade Support Network participant, and an advisor to the University of Houston Women in Leadership Program.
