Software-Defined Radio Fundamentals Workshop

Please join us for a free, one-day workshop with two theory sessions and hands-on laboratories.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Describe the basics of both RF transmit and receive chains: antenna, filtering, low-noise amplification, tuning, sampling, digital signal processing and application output
• Understand sampling rate, bandwidth, center frequency, gain, dynamic range, I/Q data, FFTs and waterfall displays
• Conduct basic spectrum observation, transmission and signal characterization in a lawful manner
• Transmit and receive and modulate/demodulate real-world RF signals using SDR hardware
• Understand how introductory SDR exercises connect to military applications
