Cybersecurity Division Meeting
Join the NDIA Cybersecurity Division for a briefing on Cybersecurity and the Role of FISA Section 702.
Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act was set to expire (“sunset”) at the end of this year; however, Congress will likely authorize a short-term extension until April 19, 2024. If the provision expires in April 2024, the nation will lose a major source of cybersecurity intelligence which can be shared with and used by the private sector to protect its systems and networks.
Please join the NDIA Cybersecurity Division for a virtual briefing from Bryan Vorndran, Assistant Director of the FBI's Cyber Division, on how the U.S. intelligence community uses this Section 702 authority to combat ransomware, economic espionage, and other cyber threats to American companies and our allies from hostile nation states and other malicious actors. The briefing will be followed by a candid, off-the-record Q & A about the Section 702 reauthorization debate, proposed reforms, and law enforcement collaboration with the private sector in our shared mission to protect national security, critical infrastructure, economic security and innovation, and the privacy of sensitive data.
