Shared Services Summit 2024 - Shaping the Future of Shared Services in 2024 and Beyond. What is the Art of the Possible?
DESCRIPTION:
The Shared Services concept of sharing a service or critical expertise across multiple business or mission functions within a particular agency or across multiple agencies has been around for many years with the intent of building high-quality capacity through economies of scale. The goal for Shared Services is to improve quality, consistency, and timeliness, reduce duplicative investments, and provide cost effectiveness of service delivery to customers that leverage shared best practices and improved performance. Through the sharing of these services, agencies can reduce administrative burdens and increase collaboration enabling individuals to focus on more mission-centric activities.
The government’s adoption of shared services has not been as rapid or wide-spread as originally intended. The primary focus areas have been Human Resources, Financial Management and Cyber Security and Grants; however, there is interest being explored on how technology and Generative AI can add a new dimension, a next generation of Shared Services, and expand the concept amongst other activities such as artificial intelligence/machine learning, data and data analytics, call centers, SCIFS, digital services, assisted acquisition, global delivery models/networks, labor arbitrages, facilities management, etc.
The Shared Services Summit will provide updates from key government agencies, international organizations, FedRamp, and large national organizations that have enacted a shared services enterprise using Generative AI and other technologies in the process. The intent of this Summit is to provide registrants with new ideas, concepts, structures, and designs for shared services that work successfully in organizations and/or internationally and to review new steps, ideas, and recommendations for the new administration’s consideration during the 2024-2025 transition process.
The Shared Services Summit is a collaboration between ACT-IAC and Shared Services Leadership Coalition.
