State & Local Government: Ohio Pursues Integrated Customer Services, Securely
The state of Ohio is pursuing an integrated customer approach that improves the user experience, such as creating a digital identity to simplify interactions with agencies while keeping information private and secure.
Among its efforts, the Ohio Office of Information Technology is pursuing a “cloud smart” strategy, including acting as a broker for agencies looking at Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service. At the same time, officials recognize that cybersecurity has to provide the foundation for all internet-based transactions, to protect the state and its residents.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the ways the state is coordinating data and resources and streamlining technology services across state agencies
- Outline the components of enterprise shared services being provided, including cloud services, document management, and strengthening information security and privacy
- Delineate the role of data center services in storage, servers, networks and communications, and disaster recovery, among others
