Speaker Details
Sunny Wescott, Federal Emergency Response Official Chief Meteorologist
Sunny Wescott is a Chief Meteorologist for the Federal Emergency Response within the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). She specializes in extreme weather hazards and their impacts on public and private sectors. Ms. Wescott graduated at the top of her class in Homeland Security Management, Public Safety Administration, and Atmospheric Sciences. She holds over 90 certifications from organizations like FEMA and the National Weather Service. As a former Lead Meteorologist in the US Air Force, she gained expertise in various climatological events. Since 2018, Ms. Wescott has supported multiple federal working groups related to resilience and climate security. In her current role within CISA’s Infrastructure Security Division, she provides critical weather reports for infrastructure operators before, during, and after disasters.
