Closing the Desktop Security Vulnerability
Individual users are more connected than ever before and they carry their smart devices everywhere – even to work. The rise in smart connected devices has also led to users who understand and know how to leverage these devices to streamline their activities. This combination of connectivity and skill can increase the risk of malicious intrusion at the desktop.
Secure desktop switching is one solution that helps organizations and government agencies manage and control access. The new Peripheral Sharing Switch Protection Profile (PSS PP 3.0) requires enhanced security all the way down to the component level.
In this session, you will also learn about NIAPs new requirements, as well as, future technologies and best practices for enhanced security of desktop systems.
National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) evaluates IT product conformance to international standards. The program, officially known as the NIAP Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme for IT Security (CCEVS) is a partnership between the public and private sectors. This program is being implemented to help consumers select commercial off-the-shelf information technology (IT) products that meet their security requirements and to help manufacturers of those products gain acceptance in the global marketplace. The Director, NIAP will be on hand to explain new processes that help streamline and expedite product approval.
