Supply Chain Tracing for Forced Labor Compliance

In this special comprehensive training + workshop on forced labor supply chain tracing, participants will explore the historical evolution of regulations related to forced labor in supply chains, gaining contextual background and an understanding of the moral and ethical implications of forced labor. The course delves into the standardization, enforcement, and operational aspects of addressing forced labor, providing insights into industry challenges, risk tolerance, and best practices for compliance and supplier relationships. 

 

Participants will also explore the role of technology and tools in supply chain tracing, including a review of global regulations and a detailed case study on WRO/UFLPA. Throughout the course, interactive activities, discussions, and reflection will empower participants to apply their learning to real-world scenarios and professional contexts, fostering a comprehensive understanding of forced labor supply chain tracing.

 

This course will provide foresight into CBP’s next steps related to enforcement.

Speaker and Presenter Information

Renee Chiuchiarelli is a skillful practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in trade compliance who enjoys giving back to the field which has provided her with opportunities for creativity, growth, continued education, and a passion for compliance. 

 

Eric Hargraves,an expert in cost containment, supply chain optimization, and risk management, will leverage his extensive experience in UFLPA forced labor.

 

Shawn Hardwood retired from government service in July 2023 after a 25-year career in federal law enforcement. His final post was a six-year deployment as the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Country Attaché in Mainland China, where he focused on developing productive relationships with the Ministry of Public Security and the General Administration of China Customs.
